TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE.

Image
TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE. Turn offences into jokes or question. Little, I mean very minuet offences can cause a big trouble in a marriage if not handled maturely. Most divorce cases are as a result of unresolved offences. Sometime ago I wrote that it does not matter who you have married, that you will be offended by that person one day, whether the offence is intentional or not makes no difference. So, if you followed offences the way they came in your marriage, you are going to have things in a mess. So, I advise that if your wife or husband offends you deliberately turn it into a joke or reduce it to a question, by so doing you would have saved the situation. An example could be that you have always told your spouse that you wanted something to be done in a particular way and he/she makes a mistake and did that thing that you have always warned he/she about, instead of shouting or getting unnecessarily angry, turn it into a question, you will still be able to co...

Google has released a new version of Chrome that it claims will make your browser faster and give your laptop battery extra life.

Image
Chrome is the world's most-used browser, but it ain't perfect. All those nifty Chrome extensions and useful background apps take up a tremendous amount of your computer or smartphone's memory, slowing them down in the process. And Chrome guzzles power from your laptop or phone battery. So Google sought to address both those gripes in its latest Chrome update this week. To fix the speed issue, Chrome will now look for data no longer being used that's just sitting in your computer's memory. When the time is right, Chrome will take out the garbage (believe it or not, that's actually the computer science term for what the new version of Chrome is doing). Google (GOOGL, Tech30) had already been doing some garbage collecting in previous versions of Chrome. But now, it will wait until Web pages are finished loading and completely idle -- then it will "aggressively clean up old, unused memory." By waiting until a page is idle until it drops the ham...

I was suspended for refusing to serve alcohol says Muslim flight attendant

Image
A Muslim flight attendant says she was suspended by ExpressJet for refusing to serve alcohol in accordance with her Islamic faith. In a bid to get her job back, Charee Stanley filed a discrimination complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Tuesday for the revocation of a reasonable religious accommodation. She wants to do her job without serving alcohol in accordance with her Islamic faith -- just as she was doing before her suspension, her lawyer said. "What this case comes down to is no one should have to choose between their career and religion and it's incumbent upon employers to provide a safe environment where employees can feel they can practice their religion freely," said Lena Masri, an attorney with Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Stanley, 40, started working for ExpressJet nearly three years ago. About two years ago she converted to Islam. This year she learned her faith prohibits her from not only con...

The US government is cracking down on the way law enforcement agencies use technology to track criminals.

Image
Fake mobile phone towers, often called Stingrays, offer valuable information about suspects but also collect vast amounts of data from innocent passers-by. From now on, agencies will need to obtain a search warrant to use such devices. The US Department of Justice said it wanted to protect citizens' privacy. "Cell-site simulator technology has been instrumental in aiding law enforcement in a broad array of investigations, including kidnappings, fugitive investigations and complicated narcotic cases," Deputy Attorney General Sally Quillian Yates said in a statement. "This new policy ensures our protocols for this technology are consistent, well-managed and respectful of individuals' privacy and civil liberties," she added. The policy, which takes effect immediately, applies to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Marshals Service. A US judge has ordered a Kentucky official jailed for contempt of court after she has repeatedly refused to issue marriage licences to gay couples

Image
Kim Davis has said that her Christian faith should exempt her from signing the licenses. The US Supreme Court declared gay marriage legal in June. After interviewing her fellow clerks, the judge said Ms Davis could go free if she allowed her deputies to grant the licences, but Davis refused. Ms Davis, an elected official in Rowan County, has said the Supreme Court's ruling conflicts with her beliefs as a born-again Christian. "You can't be separated from something that's in your heart in your soul," Ms Davis said. "I promised to love Him with all my heart, mind and soul because I wanted to make heaven my home." US District Judge David Bunning said he had "no alternative" but to jail her, because issuing fines would not change her mind. "Her good faith belief is simply not a viable defence," said Mr Bunning. "Mrs Davis took an oath. Oaths mean things." Image copyright Getty Images Image caption The judge said relig...

Karim Benzema says "am ready to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal

Image
Just last week the French striker was insisting he would be staying put in Spain and not joining Arsene Wenger’s men in the transfer window. But that will change should the Gunners make their interest in Benzema, 27, official with a £50million bid in the next 48 hours. That figure would meet Real’s valuation and, if accepted, set a new transfer record for Arsenal – eclipsing the £42m splashed on Mesut Ozil two years ago. And, most importantly, it would prove beyond doubt to Benzema just how badly he is wanted at The Emirates. Arsenal have been linked all summer with a big-money swoop for Real’s prolific hitman – 87 goals in 188 La Liga appearances. But so far there has been no formal approach – leaving Benzema with no option but to pledge his loyalty to the Spanish giants. Yet, according to a source close to the Bernabeu, the ex-Lyon star WOULD seriously consider a move to north London. Our Real insider said: ‘‘It’s up to Arsenal to fight for Karim with a big offer. "T...

Nigerian's Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama out after bereavement

Image
Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has pulled out of Saturday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tie against Tanzania following the death of his mother. "He is completely devastated and coach Sunday Oliseh has excused him on compassionate grounds," a source close to the family told BBC Sport. Enyeama was due to fly to Abuja on Monday but cancelled the trip. Uncapped Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is set to step into the starting line-up for the Group G qualifier. Enyeama, who plays for French club Lille and is the Super Eagles most capped player with 101 appearances, was in goal for Nigeria when they beat Chad 2-0 in their opener in Kaduna in June. Egypt, who have missed the last three continental finals, beat Tanzania 3-0 in Alexandria to top the group on goal difference. Even though they are among the best-known sides on the continent, neither Nigeria nor seven-time champions Egypt qualified for the Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea earlier this year. Meanwhile, the Ni...

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck out until Christmas for knee injury

Image
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is expected to be out until Christmas after having a knee operation. Danny Welbeck, 24, who had surgery last week on the injury sustained in April, has scored eight goals in his first 34 games for the Gunners. Arsenal, who were linked with Karim Benzema, knew the extent of the problem before the transfer window closed but did not reinforce their attack. That means Olivier Giroud is their only recognised striker fit for selection. Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell - who has not played for the Gunners since January - have experience of operating in that position, but are mainly used by Arsenal as wide players. England international Welbeck, who joined from Manchester United in 2014, picked up the injury to his left knee after coming on as a substitute in Arsenal's 0-0 home draw with Chelsea in late April. "The injury to his cartilage did not respond as well as hoped and the decision was taken last week for him to undergo sur...

Love Langauge

Image
After 30 years as a marriage counselor, I am convinced that there are five basic love languages – five ways to express love emotionally. Each person has a primary love language that we must learn to speak if we want that person to feel loved. Words of Affirmation One time when my wife and I were visiting our daughter and son-in-law and our two grandchildren, our son-in-law took the garbage out after dinner. When he walked back into the room where we were talking with our daughter, she looked up and said, "John, thanks for taking the garbage out." Inside I said, "Yes!" because I knew the power of appreciation. I can't tell you how many men and women have sat in my office over the past 30 years and said to me, "I work my tail off every day, yet my spouse acts like I haven't done a thing. I never get a single word of appreciation." If your spouse's primary love language is words of affirmation, your spoken praise and appreciation will fall lik...

Flawless Federer through, as Murray overcomes Kyrgios in US Open

Image
Roger Federer's coach, Stefan Edberg, was known as an attacking player during his day for Serving and volleying, as well as chipping and charging the net, helped the Swede amass six grand slam titles in the 1980s and '90s. But not even Edberg employed some of the audacious tactics Federer has used in the past month. The Swiss approached the net at the Cincinnati Masters after half-volleying second-serve returns, and the unconventional ploy contributed to Federer ousting both top-ranked Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, then the No. 2, en route to a seventh title. All eyes were on Federer -- well, they usually are -- to see if the men's record 17-time grand slam winner would stick with it at the U.S. Open. He did, with success, and Leonardo Mayer was the unfortunate recipient in the first round. On a second consecutive day of sweltering conditions in New York -- the heat wave isn't expected to subside anytime soon -- Federer crushed the Argentine 6-1 6-2 6-2 on Arthu...
